IPANEMA / a disappointment

When Lulu and I were in Rio de Janeiro, we stayed at the Caesar Park Hotel. Our room overlooked the famed beach of Ipanena where, I understood, many exciting female bodies would be on display in abbreviated bathing suits.

So, I could hardly wait to go exploring. With Lulu not in the least bit interested, I left the hotel, crossed the wide roadway and followed the beach down to the ocean.

I've experienced many failures in my life, but this was a particular disappointment. While there were dozens of young women on the beach, not a one lived up to my expectations.

With some reluctance, I concluded an afternoon review of the swimming pool at Rossmore, a retirement community a few miles east of San Francisco, was much more interesting.
