AMERICAN INFLUENCE
American contributions to Japan are not always the best,
particularly when English is not understood. Take T-shirts for example. I once
saw a teenage girl in Osaka
wearing one saying "Ball Me."
Or, the sign I passed in Tokyo
advertising "Second-Class Bar"; and, just down the street, a small
shop with a message in the window: "We may not charge much, but you get
what you pay for."
